I never should have let it happen.
When I really think about it, it’s really as simple as that. I could have done any number of things to prevent it. I could have told her ‘no’ when she asked if she could go out with her friends after church. We could have gotten into my car and gone straight home. But I wanted to go do something with my friends, and she wanted to do something with hers. And we’d done this kind of thing before, and everything had been fine. There was no way I could have known. There was no way I could have known, but I still felt like it was my fault. Why? Because I could have done something. I empty
